Las Tunas is located
in the easternmost part of the Western region
of Cuba. Its coasts are bathed by the Atlantic
Ocean and the Guacanayabo Gulf. It features
more than 30 virgin beaches.

area provides a space for the speleological

Las Tunas is venue of the most significant
country fiesta in Cuba: the Jornada Cucalambeana,
homage to the former king of Décima,
Juan Cristóbal Nápoles Fajardo,
known as el Cucalambé.

Fuerte de la Loma, considered National Monument
, shows one of the defensive walls made
by the Spanish colonial government to stop
the growing advance of the Cuban army during
the independentist wars.
