Introduction

It is the fith larger of the provinces of Cuba and the fourth in population. Its landscapes are mainly plani, although it has The Escambray Sierra, one of the most importan in Cuba. Just an hour drive away from Santa Clara lies a 50 km causeway that gives access to the northern cays, a string of islets bordered by virgin beaches of white sand and coral reefs, havens for dozens of Cuban endemic fauna and flora species.
